We got a demand letter out of the blue. Ran WCAG Repair in under 2 minutes — it found 23 critical issues we didn’t know about. The law firm had quoted $4,500 for an audit alone.

I run a small Shopify store and had no idea where to start. The free scan found 31 issues. The report was actually readable — not developer jargon.

§ 06Frequently asked
Questions, answered.
What is WCAG 2.1?
WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.1 is the W3C’s international standard for web accessibility. Level AA is the conformance tier most laws and regulations reference, including the ADA in US court rulings.
What does the scan check?
We use axe-core — the same engine powering Google Lighthouse and Microsoft Accessibility Insights. It checks for WCAG 2.1 A and AA violations: missing alt text, color contrast, form labels, ARIA usage, keyboard navigation, heading hierarchy, and dozens more.
How is the remediation guide generated?
Scan results are fed into an AI model that analyzes each violation in context. The output is copy-paste-ready code, organized by page and prioritized by severity. Each fix includes WCAG reference, before/after, and effort estimate.
Is automated scanning enough for full compliance?
Automated tools catch 30–50% of WCAG issues — but those same issues trigger 90%+ of ADA demand letters. Fixing them first is the highest-impact step. Our guide flags where manual review may also help.
What if I need help implementing?
The guide is designed to hand directly to any web developer — line-level detail for every issue. Need a referral?
support@wcagrepair.com.
Can I scan any website?
Any publicly accessible site. We respect robots.txt and rate-limit our crawler. Sites behind login walls, IP restrictions, or CAPTCHAs cannot be scanned.
