Free Website Accessibility Checker
Test any website for accessibility issues in under 2 minutes. 10 pages deep, mapped to WCAG 2.1 AA — the standard behind the ADA, Section 508, and the EAA.
What Does the Accessibility Checker Test?
This web accessibility checker audits your site against 50+ WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria using axe-core — the same engine behind Google Lighthouse and Microsoft Accessibility Insights.
- Images & alt text — missing or empty alternative text on informative images
- Color contrast — text and UI components that fail the 4.5:1 / 3:1 contrast ratios
- Forms & labels — inputs without programmatically associated labels
- Keyboard & focus — elements unreachable or unusable without a mouse
- ARIA & semantics — invalid roles, broken references, unlabeled buttons and links
- Structure & navigation — heading order, landmarks, page language, link purpose

Accessibility Checker FAQ
Is this website accessibility checker really free?
Yes. The scan and the full results — every issue found, organized by severity — are free, with no signup and no trial. If you want step-by-step fixes, we offer an optional AI-generated remediation guide with copy-paste code for each issue, but the checker itself never requires payment.
What standard does it check against?
WCAG 2.1 Level AA — the technical standard referenced by virtually every accessibility law worldwide, including the ADA in the United States, Section 508 for US federal agencies and contractors, and the European Accessibility Act. Passing WCAG 2.1 AA puts you on solid ground for all of them. Learn more about the WCAG 2.1 & 2.2 guidelines themselves.
Can an automated accessibility checker catch everything?
No automated tool can — and you should be skeptical of any that claims to. Automated testing reliably detects the majority of the issues that appear in real accessibility complaints and lawsuits: missing alt text, low color contrast, unlabeled form fields, broken ARIA, and keyboard traps. Subjective criteria like the quality of alt text or logical reading order need human judgment. Our remediation guide flags exactly which findings need manual review.
Do I need to install anything to test my website?
No. Enter your URL above and the check runs in our cloud — nothing to install or configure. We also offer other free tools: a color contrast checker for testing individual color pairs and an accessibility statement generator for publishing your conformance status.
